We drove from Bayeux to St.George’s-de-Didonne which is along the Atlantic coast. The motorway is a toll road ... we paid almost 40 Euro so that we could make good time.
Unlike past trips, we were able to use a credit card to pay. Before the U.S. credit cards had chips, we were pretty much a cash-and-carry vacationers as we stayed in small towns. A pain at the toll booth, while cars piled up behind you because I had to drop 20 Euro into a machine, one Euro at a time.
The European credit cards have had chips for many, many years.
